My Ilorin Trip, What The Emir Drives...
I headed north on the 25th September 2017 for adventures and sight seeing. I saw so many beautiful things; the scenery, people and lanscapes (obviously there are few super cars). I met so many beautiful people on my sojourn who proved to me that we can still be human and remain Nigerian come what may @ahmadslim is one of them.
The focal point of my writing today is the official car of the paramount ruler of Ilorin and Kwara state, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari. His Mercedes Benz speaks volume of the influential and royal status of his office. The car is aesthetic, luxurious, classy, stylish and powerful, of course all those features have all come together to become the signature for the S-Class models over the years.
Below are quick facts of the state of the art car;
Brand: Mercedes-Benz
Model: S500
Chasis: W222
Drivetrain: All Wheel Drive
Body Type: Sedan
Passenger: 4 - 5
Engine: 4.7L V8 producing around 450HP
Fuel Consumption: 9L/100km (combined)
Transmission: 7 speed automatic
Estimated cost (Naira): about N85 million
The cars is a beauty to behold and also something befitting royalty. Little wonder it has been adopted as a symbol of office for most rulers and top government functionaries including the President, Vice President, Senate President, Speaker House of Rep and other key principal officers of the National Assembly.
